Sleep?

Postby Picko100 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 7:29 am

Can sleep effect your capabilities, can it effect your mental concious? does lack of sleep make you depressed?

Hey, i dont get much sleep, very little. and i think about suicide, attempted on sometimes.
I have paranoia, very deep thought into what someone is doing, is someone planning something against me, even if i dont know them, anything.

Depression and lack of sleep could go together and I'm sure not getting enough rest can make it worse. You have to get some help if you can, Picko. Go to your regular doctor and tell them about this and then ask to be sent to a good psych.

Lack of sleep does go along with paranoia and other conditions, both ways, and tends to be self reinforcing.

Extreme lack of sleep can even cause paranoia and hallucinations in an otherwise healthy person, which some times leads to questioning yourself and what is wrong which creates anxiety and more lack of sleep...

It isn't always that simple but some times it is. But yeah, seeing a doctor might be the best thing. :D

I was just curious, but can slight sleep deprivation actually increase mental activity in some fields i.e. increased performance.
