Anime Anyone?

Forget about mental illness for a while and just let loose in here.

I only used to watch stupid shows like DBZ, Digimon, and Pokemon as a kid but ever since my older cousin showed me FLCL It's gotten to the point where I've started studying japanese and can understand a few words and sentence fragments.

A few of my faves off the top of my head:
Eva (All Time Greatest Anime)
Bebop (Pretty good, memorable characters)
Furi Kuri (Tons of messed up comedy)
Lain (So much hallucinating)
A Kite (Seriously mature, don't show this to your kids. Tons of bloodshed, child rape, and the like)
Koi Kaze (A good romance about screwing you're little sister, whudda thunk it)
Ouran High School Host Club (Stupid comedy about effeminate boys, crossdressers, and the bizarre fetishes of teenage girls)
Saikano (Currently watching, fantastic romance about a girl who is turning into a bionic weapon)
Fruits Basket (Cute, and funny)
Loveless (A show where seemingly every character is gay and emotional)

I'm not a hardcore otaku guy. I would never spend money on manga or anime (Piracy FTW); although I watch it when I can and feel like it on the computer. I only know a few other guys who watch anime, so sometimes it feels like a bizarre hobby. You might be able to tell I watch way too much shoujo for a 15 year old guy, but oh well

I used to be really into anime. Then I went to Japan for nine months and learned Japanese. Now it's hard to watch most anime because the dialogue is soooo cliche. I do enjoy anything by Studio Ghibli though (Miyazaki Hayao - Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, etc). I also have a soft spot for Kodomo no Omocha (aka Kodocha) and I've read the manga (in Japanese). I'll occasionally read manga to keep my Japanese up as well, but never in English. I get dizzy trying to read it in English because it just doesn't translate well.
