I'm definitely not ageist but sometimes get disrespect from peers who think I'm much younger than them and on the other hand from young people, for unidentified reasons.

I don't think that is an HP thing of not wanting to tell ages. That may be more of a woman thing or perhaps your cultural thing YYY. Not sure.
