Song that describes HPD in relationships

Postby theatrium » Wed Nov 17, 2010 2:46 am

I don´t know if this is permitted here, but I laughed so hard listening to some good ol´Phil Collins today that I had to share this. :D I think if you could ask me what is a song that perfectly describes the behavior of HPD women in relationships, I would say it´s "Easy Lover".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnDYattQH3Y

Lyrics:

Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see

She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
She will play around and leave you
Leave you and deceive you
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it

No you'll never change her, so leave it, leave it
Get out quick cos seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know

Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see

You're the one that wants to hold her
Hold her and control her
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
For she'll say there's no other
Till she finds another
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it

And don't try to change her, just leave it, leave it
You're not the only one, ooh seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know, oh

No don't try to change her, just leave it, leave it
You're not the only one, ooh seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know, oh

She's an easy lover (she's a easy lover)
She'll get a hold on you believe it (get a hold on you)
(She's) like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees (you'll be down on your knees)
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it (you won't feel it)
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see (trying to make you see)

Hi:
Well strangely enough, also by Phil Collins, I came across this gem the other day. Its on my old "Hello I must be going CD" that i had not listened to for years, but it spoke volumes to me. Its not only the words that ooze frustration but also the musical topology of the song....frustration to the point of saying "s*d you* i'm outta here. Seems like many of us on here were obliged to do that. Here it is

*Don't Care Anymore - by Phil Collins"

Well you can tell ev'ryone I'm a down disgrace
Drag my name all over the place.
I don't care anymore.
You can tell ev'rybody 'bout the state I'm in
You won't catch me crying 'cos I just can't win.
I don't care anymore I don't care anymore

I don't care what you say
I don't play the same games you play.

Cos I've been talking to the people that you call your friends
And it seems to me there's a means to and end.
They don't care anymore.
And as for me I can sit here and bide my time
I got nothing to lose if I speak my mind.
I don't care anymore I don't care no more

I don't care what you say
We never played by the same rules anyway.

I won't be there anymore
Get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore I don't care anymore

Well, I don't care now what you say
Cos ev'ry day I'm feeling fine with myself
And I don't care now what you say
Hey I'll do alright by myself
Cos I know.

Cos I remember all the times I tried so hard
And you laughed in my face 'cos you held all the cards.
I don't care anymore.
And I really ain't bothered what you think of me
Cos all I want of you is just a let me be.
I don't care anymore D'you hear' I don't care no more

I don't care what you say
I never did believe you much anyway.

I won't be there no more
So get out of my way.
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore
D'you hear' I don't care anymore
I don't care no more
You listening' I don't care no more
No more!

You know I don't care no more!

no more, no more...no more, no more...
no more, no more...no more, no more...

Hey Musician,

I think probably your song describes the personal feeling after a relationship with an HPD, and the song I posted may have been a way of a friend who has been involved with an HPD to tell a buddy they suspect fell for a woman with some PD, "Dude get the hell outta there!!! That girl is just using you and will leave you in pieces. You can´t change her, can´t control her and she´ll leave you once she drained all the life and love out of you"

You know, maybe Phil Collins had his contact with an HPD woman at a certain point in his life. He knows the drill all to well imo.

Those are great songs, but one I think describes the attraction and addcition like relationship to an HPD Woman would be:

Ne-Yo's Beautiful Monster
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT5p169meuA

All my life
And the hereafter
I've never seen
Seen one like you

You're a knife
Sharp and deadly
And it's me
That you cut into

But I don't mind
In fact I like it
Though I'm terrified
I'm turn on [?] scared of you

Chorus:
She's a monster
Beautiful monster
Beautiful monster
But I don't mind

And I need her
Said I need her
Beautiful monster
But I don't mind

No I don't mind (I don't mind I don't I don't mind...)

In her eyes
There's love and fire
In my heart
She's burning through

But I don't mind
In fact I like it
Though I'm terrified
I'm turn on [?] scared of you

Chorus:
She's a monster (she's a monster)
Beautiful monster (beautiful monster)
Beautiful monster (beautiful monster yeah)
But I don't mind (don't mind)

And I need her (and I need her)
Said I need her (said I need her)
Beautiful monster (whooah)
But I don't mind (I don't mind)
But I don't mind

Playing with my heart
And she's playing with my mind
And I don't mind I don't I don't mind
No I don't mind I don't I don't mind
No I don't mind I don't I don't mind
No I don't mind I don't I don't mind

And I don't mind
Said I don't mind
And I don't mind
Beautiful monster

She's a monster (she's a monster)
Beautiful monster (beautiful monster)
Beautiful monster (oooo)
But I don't mind (but I don't mind)

And I need her (and I need her)
Said I need her (said I need her)
Beautiful monster (beautiful monster)
But I don't mind (ooooo)
No I don't mind

No I don't mind (I don't mind I don't I don't mind...)

At least this is how I feel about it anyways...
Often I feel sorry for the men that only see the outside of me, the attractive side, the desireous side, and that part of me that makes them think I'm their 'perfect drem girl' because although it IS who I am- it's NOT who I am, and as soon as they give into me, I'll break them with my use, my love & my anger.

So, as much as I AM beautiful (according to those who adore me) I'm a MONSTER inside, "Beautiful Monster..."

For a classic milktoast 'nice guy' Non's POV, listen to "Self Esteem" by Offspring (but written by K Cobain? - could also refer to a BPD GF, though)

I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practice all the things I would say
But she came over
I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert
Now I know I'm being used
That's okay man cause I like the abuse
I know she's playing with me
That's okay cause I got no self esteem

We make plans to go out at night
I wait till 2 then I turn out the light
All this rejection's got me so low
If she keeps it up I just might tell her so

When she's saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
Right? Yeah yeah yeah

Now I'll relate this little bit
That happens more than I'd like to admit
Late at night she knocks on my door
Drunk again and looking to score
Now I know I should say no
But that's kind of hard when she's ready to go
I may be dumb
But I'm not a dweeb
I'm just a sucker with no self esteem

PS - in "Self Esteem," note how furious electric guitar riffs express the non-verbal rage of the male protagonist?

How about from 'the other side'?
If only it came in a 'warning' sign when you first approach.

Meddle - Little Boots
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cHX-znop8Q

Don't meddle with her heart
Or meddle with her mind
Meddle with the things that are inside
You don't know what you'll find
You don't know what she hides
So, don't go messing with her heart
Or messing with her mind
Or messing with the things that are inside
You don't know what you'll find
You don't know what she hides

'Cause she's a mixed up girl in a mixed up world
And you know she don't mean any harm
So, please understand if you take her hand
You'll get much more than you bargained for

How about that old classic from the Zombies - She's Not There

Well no one told me about her the way she lied
Well no one told me about her how many people cried
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know why should I care
Please don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Well let me tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she's not there

Well no one told me about her, what could I do
Well no one told me about her, though they all knew
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Well let me tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she's not there

But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Well let me tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she's not there

Here's another one, after you've figured out you're in love with HPD chick- this is classic

Nickle Back Figured You Out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzwmsZjzTZQ

I like your pants around your feet
I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I love the powder on your nose

Ooooh
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed,
While you put me to the test
I like the wine stains on your dress

And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self respect
While you're passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

I love your pants around your feet
And I love the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I hate the places that we go
And I hate the people that you know
And I hate the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I hate the powder on your nose

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

Here's another one from the perspective of both parts of the relationship. You can hear HIS frustration and HER desperation to keep him...

Eminen & Ryana

Love the Way You Lie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uelHwf8o7_U

Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie

I can't tell you what it really is
I can only tell you what it feels like
And right now there's a steel knife
In my windpipe
I can't breathe
But I still fight
While I can fight
As long as the wrong feels right
It's like I'm in flight
High of a love
Drunk from the hate
It's like I'm huffing paint
And I love it the more that I suffer
I sufficate
And right before im about to drown
She resuscitates me
She ######6 hates me
And I love it
Wait
Where you going
I'm leaving you
No you ain't
Come back
We're running right back
Here we go again
It's so insane
Cause when it's going good
It's going great
I'm Superman
With the wind in his bag
She's Lois Lane
But when it's bad
It's awful
I feel so ashamed
I snap
Who's that dude
I don't even know his name
I laid hands on her
I'll never stoop so low again
I guess I don't know my own strength

Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie

You ever love somebody so much
You can barely breathe
When you're with them
You meet
And neither one of you
Even know what hit 'em
Got that warm fuzzy feeling
Yeah them chills
Used to get 'em
Now you're getting ######6 sick
Of looking at 'em
You swore you've never hit 'em
Never do nothing to hurt 'em
Now you're in each other's face
Spewing venom
And these words
When you spit 'em
You push
Pull each other's hair
Scratch, claw, bit 'em
Throw 'em down
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth~Oscar Wilde
