Austin,
Let me first say congrats! I know that sounds cheesy, but seriously.
I have been on lexapro for about 3 years. I love it! I didn't really notice any side effects when I first started it, but I was such an anxious mess that I don't think I would have noticed. I recently went cold-turkey off of it, big mistake, and had to get back on it. This second time on it (about 4.5 weeks ago) I noticed a lot of side effects. Blurry vision, headaches, nausea, increased anxiety, sweating, constant yawning, sleepiness yet insomnia. Most of those subsided after 2 weeks, but I still yawn when i'm not tired and I still have some occasional blurry vision/vertigo. BUT, because I know the potential and where it will put me mood/anxiety wise in just a couple of months, I am happy to suffer! I was able to live again. Enjoy my life, drive without fear, go places alone without panicking, sleep! So, hang in there. You may experience increased anxiety the first 2 weeks, but that will subside!!! Hang in there. If you have any other questions or concerns, let me know. :)

I was recently put on it. It makes me really sick, to the point of vomiting, so I don't care much for it. My psychiatrist lowered my dosage after that.

Before hand, she (my psychiatrist) told me that this is a rare symptom though, so I wouldn't worry too much about vomiting if I were you.

Good luck, I hope it all works out with you. :)
