Income vs gambling money lost

After gambling binge in 2015, I relapsed in 2016 and 2017 which resulted in additional loss just like all other gambler stories. I was just calculating past five years take home income vs money spent on gambling. Total take home income in past five years through job = $320000 and money spent on gambling for five years is about $42000. This is about 13% of my take home income and it almost made me throw up. Day 33 with out gambling now. Going strong so far. How about other people in this matter? What is your take home Income vs gambling money lost percentage for past 5 years.

Depress, Congrats on 33 days GF!! A day at at time, I wish you abstinence and peace.

I am a bit worried though, about what you are asking of our folks here. Gambling addiction is a form of alienation from ourselves and our fellows. It is not primarily a money problem; it's a spiritual and emotional problem. Focusing on losses keeps a person in the "weighing and measuring" gambling mindset. Some here have lost more than you have and some less. Some a greater percentage of their income and some less. I don't see point in comparing, and it may trigger someone to keep gambling. Let's just all agree that we do not need to gambling in our lives.
