HELP - living with a paranoid-schizo with 13 personalities

I'm going crazy myself. And that is no exaggeration of anything. There is such great mental torture that I honestly feel like my own mental health is deteriorating.

This person is my boss. I live in his house. Personal assistance situation. He is much older. He has paranoid schizophrenia with 13 personalities, though i think he might have more personaloties, as it is very easy for him to adapt, for example, the personality of a character he just saw in a movie.

One day we were having a nice time ending the night with a movie. The count of Monte Cristo, to be exact. Then all of a sudden he went from super nice to super evil. He took the identity of the evil guy in that movie. And all of a sudden he started yelling at me, saying stuff like "I won't let you use me the way you do. When i come home you have to take my jacket and clean my shoes." If I get confused or even dare question anything he says, he flips out and starts breaking stuff or worse. One day i had to hide in the bathroom but he then waited outside for hours to make sure i wasnt coming out.

Past few days have been worse. He keeps putting me down. Makes me clean every corner every minute of the hour. If he finds dust somewhere, I'm done. He hasnt even been paying me so that way id be stuck here, unable to move elsewhere, and he is not nice to my dog.


I don't feel myself anymore. I can't smile about anything anymore, get panic attacks, and feel like this mental torture will make me paranoid or bipolar or something. I don't know. I guess i need help dealing with this person. He doesn't take anything for his illness because he says he cured himself because he is a god.

Is it possible for you to look for another job and plan on moving out without your boss' knowledge?

Holding you against your will in a bathroom is not professional employment...

What I would do, based on what I have seen others do, is:

1. leave the house; go to a shelter if you have nowhere else to go
2. quit your job
3. return with a police escort to remove your things from the house
4. sue in small claims court for back pay

By the way, multiple personalities is not paranoid schizophrenia except in the slapstick movie "Me, Myself & Irene"; there, the references to schizophrenia ("He may have advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage. But he is a very gentle person!") are a joke.
