What do you love about being sober?

Postby MariaMria » Tue Apr 15, 2014 2:06 pm

Some of mine are:

1. I don't have hangovers ( I hated that headache)
2. I Love that my mind is clear.
3. I Love my honest relationship with my family
4. I love to have a freedom of not living my life around alcohol.
5. I Love myself)

Those are just a few to get us started.

:) I was thinking about starting a similar thread for a while!

1. Not having to wake up in the morning (or, if I was taking something that kept me awake, in the afternoon) and going "F*****K!!!!" because I just remembered what I said/wrote 12 hours ago, when it seemed a good idea
2. I definitely don't miss hangovers
3. My bank account is less terrifying of a place
4. Call me weird but I love NA
5. At least now when I feel "out of it" I *know* that it's bipolar and not some sort of withdrawal or drug still working
Currently working on my upcoming signature.

Glad to know

1. I love to be mentally and physically free.
2. I saved money.
3. Lifting that weight off of my shoulders and not feeling tied down to anything.
4. I love this quote
“stop drinking, and you can finally uncover the landscape of your life.”

This is an awesome idea for a thread. Big kudos to whose idea this was. I often get so down about life that I forget how lucky I am so be sober. So here goes.

1. I love that I can be honest with my family again, and that My 73-year-old father is no longer finding crack pipes in his golf shoes when I hid them from myself in a fit of paranoia. I love that I no longer cause him that pain.
2. I love that it's easier to treat my psychiatric illness, and that when there's an issue I know for a FACT that it's not because of alcohol or drugs.
3. I love that my risk of having a seizure is drastically lower and that I'm slowly getting my health back.
