What is associative identity disorder? Is it the same as dissociative identity disorder? Its what my psychologist put in my report to my doctor.

I googled it and got nothing and I've never heard of it. Google just tried to correct my spelling to dissociation. So I'm gunna say it was a typo on your report.

some people use the term disassociate instead of dissociate. Therefore dis-associative instead of dissociative, but i agree - odd.

the way i understand associative identity disorder vs disassociative is that you're conscious of each personality.. for me i picture an ampitheater type setting like the starwars 1-3 senate seating area. then i picture copies of myself (like what naruto does) and give them different personality traits and let them vote and help perceive the input from myself in the middle of it all.. a dog i was attached to died recently and i disbanded the system and noticed i have had a lot of trouble with memory lately. i am eventually planning to set the structure up again but it doesn't really matter.

hopefully this gets added to the handbook soon.
