should I give this therapist a chance?

POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING
so, found a therapist specialised in DID.

Mailed her with a heads up. (size of system, current crisises, diagnoses)

Reply:

I d love to speak to Minnie, in the session as you are THE ANP.
You can tell me about the parts and the Inner world.
You can draw them, it s helpful to visualise them.

As some of you may know - in DID there are VARIOUS ANP s who take over the body - hence communcition is very important. The fact she singles me out as the only one worries me.
I can t stand another round of how I need to take control, keep everyone in order, I m not the boss of any of them!
So I fear she doesn t grasp DID as in making a mistake into qualifyin me as the ONLY ANP.

Tell about the other parts? Vicky knows everyone, I dont. So if you want to get the full picture you ll need Vicky to come. She s not telling me anything. And parts? honestly? Alters please. I don t want her to call anyone a 'part' of 'MInnie' the ANP. Or 'the memories of the year....'

Drawing them? I wrote her this is a polyfragmented system. Where d we find the paper?

I mailed her to clarify her view on treatment. So I ll see.

I just don t see why it s so hard for professionals to be open to talk to alters. I mean, they hold valuable information about why they do what htey do and don t tell me most of the time, apart from that I TRIGGER WARNING end up dead a lot in the Inner World - and the one hosting needs help at that point, not to be told to buckle up and just accept he or she is Minnie END TRIGGER WARNING.

:(

I was so exited - I m waitin for the mail - but are the alarm bells I m hearing ringing for you too?

Personally I would suggest going, if only for one session. Bring up your concerns and feel out the therapist by their reaction/ responses. If they don't size up there's no foul in dropping them to find someone better.

I wrote her a mail with my concerns I listed above.

The answer was:

I understand that Minnie knows all parts but is not in touch with all of them
I d love to make room for MInnie and the parts to be part of sessions, is that more clear?

I replied that: I had written actually that NO I don t know all parts, that would be Vicky as I d written before;
And getting touch for now is very hard since TRIGGER WARNING they kill everyone on sight for now END TRIGGER WARNING and that that would be my main focus.
I also pointed out hat it worried me how she describes me as THE ANP, when more of us can take over the body AND DO.
In fact we have had different hosts for a while, and I considered giving up the host position a few times too.
So i m the HOST which is different form THE ANP.

I ll see what she replies.

Reason why I m not just rushing into a session: I ve been to several therapists, and for now mmostly they focus on me (MInnie), who is allowed to talk about the system. Period.
One therapist started to question the looks of the system and started to call Indie, one of the littles 'the memories of th eyear......' it caused a huge inner conflict and took all evening to calm her down.

I find it worryint too that tho I stated clearly that I want to know if the alters can talk to her,she just didn t address the question.

Do you need more information to make a decision here? If so, go to a session. If not, especially if you have a more promising candidate, don't. If you don't have a more promising candidate, perhaps some extra searching for new candidates would be fruitful.
