Famous people

Postby TooCloseToTheEdge » Mon Jan 07, 2013 11:00 am

I need some help. Do any of you have a list or a link or whatever with famous people that had mental illness? Any kind, not only dissociative. I am making a site for school (hw at informatics) about mental health and I need to make a statistics and celebrities page.

I apologise if this is inappropriate in any way

I'm not finding any conclusive list, sorry. I'm finding some sources that say "these celebrities have a mental illness" but there are just some on each list - so I wouldn't use it as a valid source, sorry. Hope you find what you need :)

Ouais...*sigh* I've found only a few people here and there, too. I thought that maybe someone was more capable of using google than me.

But statistics? From anywhere, not necessarily a particular country or continent. I asked here because firstly, I don't know where this would fit, and secondly, because in my opinion, this is the most active forum. :D And also, there are people here from all over the world. They should know something here and there, and maybe we can put two and two together and make something out of all these bits of information. :)

The national institute of Mental health has some numbers (statistics) in regards to the American population with mental illnesses (for example: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publicat ... ndex.shtml)

Maybe this could be of some help?

Sorry, I'm not too good at googling. I'm trying anyway :)

Oh, merci. Merci. That's ok. I'm not good with it, either. Yes, that helps nevertheless. :D

I actually just googled this topic the other day out of curiosity but couldn't really find too much list wise. I just googled it again to see if I could find anything and found this...

http://www.state.nj.us/mhstigmacouncil/ ... media.html

Has lots of names, but not many disorders really. I noticed one of the celebrities they under Anxiety disorder has bigger issues than just anxiety, so I'd cross reference them with other sites as well. I'm guessing a lot of them probably have more than just 1 disorder.

Here's another I found too...

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much. It doesn't really matter if there are not all of them. The teacher doesn't even know what many of them mean, so...yeah :? That will definitely help a lot. :D

Don't know if it helps but Patty Duke had Bipolar, she wrote a book called Call Me Anna. And Princess Diana admitted in an interview that she was a Self-injurer.
