A shot in the dark...How does Benadryl affect you?

Postby humptydumpty » Sat Dec 22, 2012 1:52 am

Some recent posts about dreams and switching symptoms have inspired me to ask this. Whenever I have to take benadryl, I fall asleep in the body and see what's happening as a dream. I feel like my eyes are closed, but they're actually open and the body is very much awake. I feel like I'm observing the world in a dissociated state but am unaware that I'm actually dissociated, if that makes sense.

My guess is that the side effects of benadryl compound the dissociative experiences related to DID. Anyone else?

Benadryl doesn't affect me, it doesn't even effect my allergies.

Midol on the other hand makes me feel very dissociated. And then my nerve pain meds make me switch all wonky without any triggers.

JustAnthony: I think that is an automatically generated 'study' you linked. That medicine doesn't cause DID. And with four cases of DID (0.02%) it isn't valid at all.
Dx: PDD-NOS. Tested for dissociative disorders and PTSD but they say the symptoms are attributable to PDD-NOS.
