Believe Yourself?

Postby SmileXx » Tue Jan 12, 2010 11:38 pm

Oh the lying. I lie a lot...
Vanity Lies
White Lies
Opportune Lies
Lie for No Reason
My boyfriend has a time trying to decipher if I'm lying or not....

I try not to, but it's really hard, actually.
At one point, I even started to believe my own lies... I had a whole background story that never happened, full of awful events the writers of Law & Order would kill for, and I believed it as much as anyone else did.
Once, they hooked me up to a lie detector, due to some allegations that came up as a result of my lying... I passed. I believed my lies enough to pass a lie detector test about them.

I don't know how to stop lying. It hasn't been on my top list of things to discuss with my shrink since there's been more pressing matters... Confession has never been my strong suit, and too many people have believed me over the years.

It's like I'm living two lives...

Smile, you have to tell your doctor. Try writing it down in a letter if you can't just come out and say it. This is obviously harming you and you have to do everything you can to get help for it.

I don't really find it an issue...
I mean... sure it's probably really sick that I can con MYSELF into believing my own lies..
But realistically, I'll always know the truth in the back of my mind.
So... no. Lol. Just wondering if anyone has ever believed themselves.

I think it's a neat phenomenon.

I see, but wouldn't it be better to get rid of this? It probably bothers your boyfriend.

There's a method, with my boyfriend.
He knows I always journal the truth... all of it.
I have a bad habit of forgetting good moments, as well as the truth sometimes.
So I write it down.
He references the book if he's skeptical.

We get by.

Mother nature has a knack for breaking what does not bend.
Are you breaking or bending?

Yeah, the boyfriend has adapted to the system of "taking care of me" rather well since he moved in.
He knew I was crazy, but he didn't really know I was crazy ALL THE TIME until he moved in...
It was a struggle at first, but he's got it down...

I keep trying to tell him that it's not his place to take care of me...
But he insists...
Guess that's love.
