How do I know if my child is being abused or not?

How I come to know whether my kid is also child abused or not at child care centre as I and my wife are working.

I've read and I also understand that if your child is carefree and bubbly and spontaneous and suddenly they are closed off and silent and just not themselves, well it's not an actual sign that they are being abused, but something may be happening in their lives that they are responding in this way. Are they old enough to talk? Or are they infants? My heart hurts to know that there is a possibility that your child could be abused. Are there physical signs of abuse?
