You know you're BPD when your family asks if you had your period a week or two ago, and you tell them no and tell them that's just you, normal.

You also know you're BPD when your friend (who you are convinced hates you deep down and has abandoned you) hangs out with a mutual friend the night before. She told you that she was busy with work until mid August, and now she's a liar and a b###%, because she was so busy and MUST have just said that to you so you'd leave her alone. You want to delete her off of Facebook, especially the family section where she's listed as your sister, your phone, and your life. In fact, you want to do that with everyone you know, just so you can see who really cares and who doesn't. Then you find out that your mutual friend just dropped by her apartment and that the plan wasn't to go out without you, it was just that your mutual friend is pushy and probably forced her out of her apartment. You're now sitting on the couch laughing at this situation while drinking Ovaltine chocolate milk (despite it being more calories than it's worth).

But the salt in my wounds isn't burning anymore than it used to. It's not that I don't feel the pain, it's that it just I'm not afraid of hurting anymore.
And the blood in these veins isn't pumping any less than it ever has. And that's the hope I have, the only thing I know is keeping me alive.

You know you're BPD when...

Your "boardmance" from an Internet forum tells you he is talking to another female poster from the same board. The whole message board relationship or boardmance thing is 95% joke anyway and you know you'd NEVER want to date that person, if you'd actually know them in real life. And he tells you this female poster most likely prefers women anyway and that they are just friends. But then you hear that one of their conversations lasted 8 hours... And you immediately get jealous, want to tell the boardmance to ###$ off and want to stop talking to them for good. That's when you know you're BPD.

...and also when after writing this rant, you go and stalk this female poster's posts in the forum, looking for signs why she can't possibly be a better funnier poster than you.

No, not really. You know those "whack-a-mole" games you used to see at arcades or the fair? The ones that pop up and you have to hit with the mallet before they go back down? I feel like one of them. I keep looking up through the hole, thinking this is my time to move up, but whenever I poke my head up out of the hole, I get knocked back down. It's frustrating and more than a little demoralizing. :(

Thanks for asking, B. It means a lot to me.

Edit: I didn't mean to take it off-topic, everyone. I'm sorry. :(

... your friends get in a mood and decides to leave and instead of realising she's just doing that for her, to calm down, and it's the way she is - you immediately make it all about you by feeling a failure and refusing to let her go even if it's the only way to support her. I just don't understand why she won't let me help.

Postby Me... Today » Tue Aug 07, 2012 4:18 pm

Hello to everyone here!

I'm new to this site and thought I would take a look having recently been diagnosed with BPD and basically, wanting all the support I can possibly find out there. Although I've had my suspicion's for some time, it's been hard to take on board that I actually do have this. It's been hard to swallow the fact that there is something 'wrong' with my personality! And it's so hard to make myself understood. I keep telling myself that at least now I know what i'm dealing with, perhaps I can start to move forward with my life and hopefully regain some control. It's a big hope! Although at the moment, there doesn't appear to be a great amount of support on offer for me but it's very early days I guess and I aren't going to stop 'knocking on doors' until I do get some because quite frankly, I guess like everyone in the same situ as me.... I need it!

Anyway, I just read the 'you know you're BPD when' post and I have to say... Awesome! Really funny and pretty spot on!

Me....Today!

Welcome, and I'm glad that you've found this post helpful. Many people can identify with these posts, and it tends to be a little lighter and more humorous side of looking at the tendencies and thoughts of BPD'ers. Regardless, we're happy to have you :0).

Feel free to add your own "You Know You're BPD When..." so that all of us can get to know you better. I think you'll find that the forum is a great place to ask for help when you need a hand, and a great place to reach out to others when you're feeling better and more stable.

Take and give :0).

You know you're BPD when you decide to ditch your support worker before she decides to get rid of you so cut off contact with her. You've made the decision never to work with her again. Then she text's to say she's cancelled the appointment so you go into a fury because you're now convinced she's just making excuses to get rid of you and she got in first!!!! Then you feel really hurt and rejected because she doesn't want to meet with you!!
