So much facepalm up in here.

BPD is the result of specific types of mental and emotional abuse growing up. This abuse actually changes the brain organ in ways which result in disorders like BPD.

Research for yourself, though, don't take my word for it.

An example:

http://healthland.time.com/2013/06/05/s ... ific-ways/

Emotional abuse left a different type of scar. Here, the changes were seen in regions associated with understanding and controlling emotions and recognizing and responding to the feelings of others. “We [saw thinning] in areas that have to do with self-awareness and emotional regulation, areas in the prefrontal cortex and medial temporal lobe, which typically show activation when people are asked to think about themselves or reflect on their emotions,” Pruessner says.

The changes seen were not small: Pruessner says if a region typically was 5 mm. thick on average, in abuse survivors it was just 3 mm. to 4 mm. “The effect size was quite significant,” he adds.

Edit to add: Similarly, if you research the same sort of thing regarding people with PTSD, you will also see that their brain organ was modified. People with PTSD are typically triggered by things like, loud noises, or blood, or whatever reminds of them the trauma. When your entire childhood was psychologically traumatic, so much $#%^ will trigger you as a result that it's considered your "personality". But really it's not. The results are literally the same at the base level: psychological trauma scars your brain.

not saying you are wrong but does that mean bpd =ptsd (or a subsection?)
and trauma =bpd
it's not bps + trauma?
nothing about trauma in the DSM (do you use that definition or something els?)
