It can be, in one of two ways. It would likely be classed as self-destructive and/or dangerous behaviour, both of which are certainly in our wheelhouse.

yes it can be a part of borderline (as in a impolse thing not accuttly a symptom). i love fire and have been in trouble for starting fires. it is dangerouse and you can get into so much trouble. try not to start fires it will lead to trouble

Self harm is most often used either to get attention (cry for help) or to manage anxiety. For pwBPD, I'd say its usually both at the same time.
I had a patient once who cut his face straight down from the eyesocket to jaw, then used a cigarette lighter and a soda can tab to cauterize it. He said he wanted people to see on the outside what kind of pain he felt on the inside. We had to keep a careful eye on him.

Well I hope it doesnt get any worse. Im not planning on setting a fire. I just played around with candles and matchsticks. I wanted the candle to disapear.
And I set fire to paper in the sink.
I tried to burb myself but no success.
Hopefully this is just a phase

It's one of three key traits of a psychopath according to some older and much more simpler criteria.

That's just what a psychopath would say.
J/k. They all hang out in the AsPD forum.
