Sometimes I don't mind the emptiness...

Postby infinity2449 » Thu Jul 24, 2014 10:49 pm

Sometimes I don't mind the emptiness. Other times I hate it, but most of the time I just don't mind it. Or maybe it's just that I don't care about feeling empty because I'm feeling empty.
Does anyone else feel this way?

The thing I hate about it the most is that it's not neutral - when my moods are swinging around, or my thoughts kinda racing, I see that as just what my mind does, and don't really feel the need to interfere. With the emptiness, it covers everything with futility and sucks the joy out of life completely. I hate the 'this is just as important as anything else, so nothing is important' kinda thing.

I would be so much easier if I could see it as just another thing my mind does, and not get hooked into it.The emptiness has not touched my ambition - I still want to do all the things I wanted to do before this started, not it just feels dull and hard. When I feel that way, I wish I could just sit and let it morph into whatever's next instead of feeling like I have to fix it.

On a positive note, I did bike 23 miles today in good time. Felt less empty, so that's something.

No, I don't feel that way. I am always bothered by the emptiness. It's not pleasant at all and I also can't get used to it. It sucks and it'll always suck.

Most of the time I don't feel anything at all, and I need to feel something so I go to things to get my dopamine or adrenaline pumping.

If I want to escape some overwhelming emotions, I don't mind the empty feeling for a little while in an attempt to give myself some breathing room, but if it goes on too long it's bothersome.

So you can switch between feeling things and feeling nothing?

I can do that I think. i reach a certain point where my mind can't take the stress of my emotions and I just shut down. Sometimes it's in the form of panic attacks and sometimes it's just casual after a fight with a significant other.

I just don't care anymore and I'm numb and my insides are hollow. It feels good to be nothing when being something means being in pain.

Sometimes. Other times I just try to defeat the emptiness in some way, or wait for something to make me feel alive.
