This one hits very close to home...

Kid Cudi – Day N Nite Lyrics
Day n nite. I toss and turn, I keep stressin’ my mind, mind.
I look for peace, but see I don’t attain.
What I need for keeps this silly game we play, play.
Now look at this.
Madness the magnet keeps attracting me, me.
I try to run, but see I’m not that fast.
I think I’m first but surely finish last, last.
‘Cause day n nite,
the lonely stoner seems to free his mind at nite.
He’s all alone through the day n nite.
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at nite, ah ah at nite.
Day n nite.
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at nite.
He’s all alone, some things will never change.
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at nite, ah ah at nite

Hold the phone.
The lonely stoner- Mr. Solo Dolo.
He’s on the move, can’t seem to shake the shade.
Within his dreams he sees the life he made.
Made.
The pain is deep.
A silent sleeper, you won’t hear a peep, peep.
The girl he wants don’t seem to want him too.
It seems the feelings that she had are through.
Through.

Cause day n nite.
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at nite
He’s all alone through the day n nite.
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at nite, ah ah at nite.
Day n nite.
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at nite.
He’s all alone, some things will never change.
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at nite, ah ah at nite

Slow mo.
When the tempo slows up and creates that new, new.
He seems alive, though he is feelin blue.
The sun is shinin man he’s super cool.
Cool.
The lonely nites, they fade away he slips into his white Nikes.
He smokes a clip and then he’s on the way,
To free his mind in search of…
To free his mind in search of…
To free his mind in search of…

Day n nite.
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at nite
He’s all alone through the day n nite.
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at nite, ah ah at nite.
Day n nite.
The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at nite.
He’s all alone, some things will never change.
The lonely loner seems to free his mind at night, ah ah at night.

Most of you probably won't know this one:

Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't It Be Good
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ptLQeMciLg

I got it bad,
You don't know how bad I got it.
You got it easy,
You don't know when you got it good.
It's getting harder
Just keeping life and soul together.
I'm sick of fighting
Even though I know I should.
The cold is biting
Through each and every nerve and fibre,
My broken spirit is frozen to the core.
Don't wanna be here no more.

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes,
Even if it was for just one day?
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away?
Wouldn't it be good to be on your side?
The grass is always greener over there.
Wouldn't it be good if we cold live without a care?

You must be joking,
You don't know a thing about it.
You've got no problem,
I'd stay right there if it were you.
I got it harder,
You couldn't dream how hard it got it.
Stay out of my shoes
If you know what's good for you.
The heat is stifling,
Burning me up from the inside,
The sweat is coming through each and every pore.
Don't wanna be here no more.

Passive - APC -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTdJowGi0UI&feature --

"Dead as dead can be," my doctor tells me
But I just can't believe him, ever the optimistic one
I'm sure of your ability to become my perfect enemy
Wake up and face me, don't play dead cause maybe
Someday I will walk away and say, "You disappoint me,"
Maybe you're better off this way

Leaning over you here, cold and catatonic
I catch a brief reflection of what you could and might have been
It's your right and your ability
To become...my perfect enemy...

Wake up (we'll catch you) and face me (come on now),
Don't play dead (don't play dead)
Cause maybe (because maybe)
Someday I'll (someday I'll) walk away and say, "You disappoint me,"
Maybe you're better off this way

Maybe you're better off this way
Maybe you're better off this way
Maybe you're better off this way
You're better of this; you're better off this;
Maybe you're better off!

Wake up (can't you) and face me (come on now),
Don't play dead (don't play dead)
Cause maybe (because maybe)
Someday I'll (someday I'll) walk away and say, "You ######6 disappoint me!"
Maybe you're better off this way

Go ahead and play dead
I know that you can hear this
Go ahead and play dead
Why can't you turn and face me?
Why can't you turn and face me?
Why can't you turn and face me?
Why can't you turn and face me?
You ######6 disappoint me!

Passive aggressive bullshit

True, by Concrete Blonde...

I like this one because it's positive...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps1cfX68_Fw

Well when I've had enough,
I'll get a pick-up truck and I'll drive away.
I'll take my last ten bucks just as far as it will go.

Ahh sometimes I'm easily fooled,
I take a painful step and I get knocked back two.
I do all I can and it's all I can do, but I'm true.

And if I had the choice I'd take the voice I got
Cause it was hard to find.
You know I've come too far to wind up right back where I started.
Ahh they tell me who I should be,
I'll never let the monkeys make a mess of me.
I give all I can and it's all I can do,
But I'm true.

One more sunset
Lay my head down - true
One more sunrise
Open my eyes up - true

And then they talk you up and then they talk you down
And you begin to doubt.
Sometimes the reasons seem so very far away.
Ahh but I'd stop breathing today,
but if I can't walk proud, I'd rather walk away.
I do all I am and it's all I can do,
Oh I'm true.

I'd give all I am and I'd give it to you.
So true.

Gary Numan is another favorite of mine...

especially songs like "Are Friends Electric"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uu6MDdxBork

Its cold outside
And the paint's peeling off of my walls
There's a man outside
In a long coat, gray hat, smoking a cigarette

Now the light fades out
And I'm wondering what I'm doing in a room like this
There's a knock on the door
And just for a second I thought I remembered you

So now I'm alone
Now I can think for myself
About little deals
And *issues*
And things that I just don't understand
Like a white lie that night
Or a slight touch at times
I don't think it meant anything to you

So I open the door
Its the `friend that Id left in the hallway
Please sit down
A candle lit a shadow on a wall near the bed

You know I hate to ask
But, 'are friends electric?'
Mines broke down
And now Ive no one to love

So I find out your reason
For the phone calls and smiles
And it hurts
And I'm lonely
And I should never have tried
And I missed you tonight
So its time to leave
You see this means everything to me

i've got a whole lot of songs that i'd like to share with you guys, don't even know where to start from!

Arcade Fire - My Body is a Cage --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmFvYzIJ9Mc (with lyrics)
"my body is a cage that keeps me from dancing with the one i love but my mind holds the key" - an amazing song which i assume many of us can relate to. for me, nothing kills good mood like this song :)

Nine Inch Nails - Every Day is Exactly The Same --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlKGdAkdrWY (with lyrics)
"I can feel their eyes are watching, in case i lose myself again. Sometimes i think i happy here. Sometimes. But i still pretend. I can't remember how this got started, but i can tell you exactly how it will end" One of my favourite songs by NIN! check it out

Dream Theatre - These Walls --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLETageifsA (lyrics included)
"tear down these walls for me, stop me from sinking under. its not too late for me to keep from sinking under" - another great song, a bit heavier than Arcade Fire though. i actually find it inspirational at times

Earshot - Wait --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc1xCYibh1g (with lyrics)
"i cant wait for someone to hear me and wait for someone to touch me and wait forever to be told, im forever alone" - awesome song! its fast pased and energetic yet depressing in a way. i prefer to crank the sounds right up when im listening to that song and sing alone at the top of my lungs :)

Burn Halo - Save Me --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CptiYtzd3Gw (lyrics included)
"save me, coz i still believe theres something in me worth saving. save me from this disease thats feeding on the better part of me. save me" - quite a heavy song, similar to Earshot - Wait, in a way

Danzig - Cantspeak --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXwaHYPKyIM (with lyrics)
"can't think. can't dream. don't care if i live or die. don't talk, i just can't believe it. gonna fade cause i'm already dead" - thats just classic

Alice in Chains - Them Bones --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHWjnNNRNlI (with lyrics)
"i feel so alone, gonna end up a big ol' pile of them bones" i'm pretty sure most of you have already heard this song

And a few bonus tracks :)

Celldweller - Welcome to the End --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YCetIPg1hA (with lyrics)
"come with me, she took my hand, please try to help me understand, so pointless when my heart has turned to stone. i know, i know..." its probably not so much the lyrics, but the music really arouses the deepest feeling of sorrow in me. quite possibly because i was listening to it at the time my first crush left the city and i never even got the chance to talk to her.

Break - In The Blue ---- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5AiJuWxxvY
This Will Destroy You - There Are Some Remedies Worse Than The Disease ---- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2L00oQMV6Q
these two songs have no lyrics, its just music but i still highly recommend it.

Enjoy! :)

The Eagles - Desperado

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late

Cake - Hem Of Your Garment

I am intrinsically no good
I have a heart that's made of wood
I am only biding time
Only reciting memorized lines
And I'm not fit to touch
The hem of your garment

No, no I'm not fit to touch the hem of your garment

I have no love but only goals
How very empty is my soul
It is a soul that feels no thrill
A soul that could easily kill
And I'm not fit to touch
The hem of your garment

No, no I'm not fit to touch the hem of your garment

I am intrinsically no good
I have a heart that's made of wood
I am only biding time
Only reciting memorized lines
And I'm not fit to touch
The hem of your garment

I am intrinsically no good
I have a heart that's made of wood
I am only biding time
Only reciting memorized lines
And I'm not fit to touch
The hem of your garment

No, no I'm not fit to touch the hem of your garment
The hem of your garment
