Retails stores all do that these days. Lots of them anyway.
They also hit their employees on each paycheck, and randomly throughout the year.
When they ask when buying from them, I tell them that is not why I came.
They make plenty of profits already, if they actually wanted to give, they would. They could also pay their employees better, or decrease the price of some basic goods. They could employ more people as well.
Anyway, they know they are immoral, that is why they try to pass the blame on their customers. The way those big chains operate is not good at all.
