I know, I have got in touch with some people outside the forum with AS recently via email and uni. It is nice to be in touch with people who go through the same things I do and think in a similar way. I have had relatively little contact with people with AS throughout my life and this is the largest collection I have ever encountered! I only started posting a few months ago but I can engage and discuss interesting topics and personal issues with people who understand and are accepting of those little quirks we all have.
It also opens me up to how different people experience AS and what it means to them, it is broadening my horizons and building my understanding of myself as a whole and why others think the way they do. I have also given advice to a few people which is not something I do very often.
"And they tell me there are people who are normal, but I don't know what they look like because I have never met one. And neither have you, so why not compare yourself to real people instead?" (Weird? at
