Laughing for no reason

Postby mina89 » Sun Feb 17, 2008 7:37 pm

So sometimes I'll be letting my mind wander, and I'll think of something that strikes me as funny, and start smiling/laughing for apparently no reason... and most of the time I can stifle myself, but sometimes I can't stop... And people will ask me, "What's so funny?" and give me weird looks when I can't/don't want to explain it to them...

Does this happen to anyone else?

Yep, sure does. In school, it was a problem because I might just laugh out loud during class, hours after a joke was told. It didn't help during yoga class (at school): Once, the yoga teacher told me that he'd 'bury me alive' for disrupting his class.

There are times when I just laugh for absolutely no apparent reason whatsoever. I don't know why I do it but it's usually when I'm bitterly frustrated.

Happens to me all the time. I also always talk to myself and people ask why. I tell them that I make better conversation then them.

Do you honestly say that to them? I must remember that for the next time someone asks me why I'm talking to myself - Good one :)

I laugh for no reason sometimes. Other times I laugh at things other people find horrifying. And sometimes I say "yep" outloud when I've been thinking about something and got to the end... like I'm agreeing with myself or have confirmed my original assumption. Then other people look at me and ask "Yep... What?". If it's anyone besides my husband, I'll just tell them "nothing".

I HAVE actually said that a couple of times. They think it's funny. One day i wasn't talking to myself as much as usual and a friend asked why. I said that I had a fight so now i'm not speaking!

Haha - I usually tell me that I talk to myself because at least I know I'll listen. That usually shuts them up ;)
