I'm just wondering if any of you have noticed a decrease in certain personality traits as you've gotten older?

Changes, yes... Is it related to aging. Debatable. Has there been times where personality traits have disappeared only to reappear later as the same or something slightly different, sure.

Mellowed, if that's directly in reference to temperament or patience. I'd have to say my temperament is reminiscent of what it was in my youth, compared to a few years ago when it was really short.

Is that what you're asking? What makes you wonder?

In any event, it's really difficult to measure. jmo...

I was to ask this also.
Whit certain age for sure there will be a result of a all life experience , and some of the traits are replaced whit common sense in my opinion.

So you've taken what you believe is spastic and reflexive energetic behavior, and transformed it into fluid, intuitive motion? Hardly common, if you ask me... isn't most maturation either a loss of common sense, in favor of frenetically burning out and coping with knee jerk reactions?

Common Sense is hardly common.

Well this is more extended , cause there can be many factors that lead a person to change behavior and also maturation does not mean that it will lead us to enlightenment, some people just get worst whit age others the opposite.

A person can build a more common sense persona type for most various motives.
What i was trying to say is that whit a life experience, a sociopath will learn whit mistakes right, so facing similiar past events he will adapte and use that common sense that a certain behavior is not appropriate, that´s my opinion.

I have most definitely mellowed with age. My danger receptors have matured from insane thrillseeking as a child to something approaching normal in my 30's. I'm kinda boring now that I'm 40.(I have ADD, not AsPD tho.)

When I was a little girl, I used to camp at Yogi Bear park and *play* on the bluffs. Playing consisted of running out of the woods at the top, and skidding/running/falling down a sand dune that was about 6 storeys high.

Now that I know kids have died doing this, I shake my head at myself. WTF was I thinking? If I caught my son doing this, I'd ground him for a month.

That pic is Scarboro, btw. I'm too busy to dig for Grand Bend on google right now.

I hope I don't get more boring with age... I'd probably have to kill myself.

They should do a scientific study with two identical twins. Feed one Twinkies and nothing but for years.

But that's not science.

I'm soon to be 32 and I've noticed the past couple of years I'm becoming less impulsive... better at thinking before I do something I know I shouldn't be doing. I don't make as many reckless mistakes that are preventable.

I'm about that age as well, and have noticed the same. I seem to have better impulse control with regards to physical aggression towards someone that pisses me off, but have noticed more irritability and vindictiveness at the same time, anyone else the same?
