I realize this may get a bunch of idiots trying to prove who fears death less.
That is NOT my point.
What I cannot understand is simply, WHY DO PEOPLE FEAR IT!? It controls SO MUCH of their day to day lives!
Why the ###$ would I hand my wallet over to someone just because they have a gun to my face? How Do i know they even have the balls to do it? Does no one.. think to maybe distract/hit gun? The amount of "Muggings" i hear about it absurd. No one ever fights back.
Why? "Oh thats how you end up dead". Are you sure? How would you know.. you've never done it!
I really fail to understand why people care so much. Wtf is worth caring enough about in this world to not embrace death when it comes?>
One day you're happy. On top of the world. The next you lose it all.
That is life.

Yeah because 100 dollars is really worth getting shot for and possibly dying.
Why risk your life for something so trivial? He doesn't have to kill you anyway.
I would rather him take the wallet, and not be injured.
Also saying "how would you know if it hasn't happen to you" is an statement of ignorance.
So many pictures online. I'll just use them all.

See, too me.. the $ value, none of that matters.
It's more the fact of... why does a gun in your face suddenly make you docile?
People can kill you with much more than a gun.
a gun instills FEAR. Fear, is conneced to death. Death is the biggest fear.
Why is there? Instinctual to some level, yet normal people over-come it?
One day you're happy. On top of the world. The next you lose it all.

It's because a gun is instant. You have no chance when a gun is 2 feet from your face. If he had a knife, bat, or even a katana, then you can still change the tide of the battle. No other weapon that people can concealed can kill you as fast as a gun. Yes it is instinctual, just like anybody, you can overcome that part. Or perhaps something went wrong and you don't have it at all. People want to live, and I find it weird that you find money more important. You could die, and he'll take it anyway. I guess that's his reward for killing someone of your caliber.

Statistics are on your side that the man behind that gun ain't got the balls to pull it.
Now, assuming he does.. so what? Even if he has the intention of killing you, if you look him back in the eye and go OK.
Wtf do you think he's gonna be thinking? He will at least be off put, momentarily.. which is more than enough time to adjust your body out of guns aim.. and hit him somewhere to drop the gun...
Without the inherant "Fear of death" you have no hesitation. People, even murderers, don't expect that. They assume they're the only one like themselves..
So it's purely instinctual? Than why are some norms free of it.

I don't understand it either.
In most cases, it's not even a gun but just some vague verbal threat. Most of the muggings wouldn't happen if the muggee showed at least some basic resistance towards the mugger.
Might quite be the result of social conditioning (Elf & Safety Gone Wrong), when people perceive the faintest possibility of the slightest physical harm as the horror or death personified.

Thats it. right there.
it is becuase we are TAUGHT to just.. roll over in a situation like that.
A robbery.. a mugging.. random acts of violence or w/e.
WE ARE TAUGHT TO ROLL OVER.
You don't have to though...

Being normal doesn't mean you have all the traits of healthy human. You guys aren't that different.
Fear can be overcomed, or used in different way. The flight or fight response for example. Apparently you are ready to die, so there is no convincing you. People choose not to try and throw there life away.Again the logical way is to look at the values of each item. Money is unimportant to me. I only value my life.

Injuries heal quick and free, unlike the consequences of a stolen wallet (unless you can afford the loss).
I'm the one with total disregard towards money and being averse of physical pain, yet I'd rather deal with a possible physical injury than with being robbed.

Exactly. I'm much more a person to take the risk, roll the dice. I wanna get to know the man who may kill me in 5 seconds.
