setting aside her apparent ignorance of what "empathy" is, i find her post instructive as a case study. she says people who harm children, animals, and the elderly are stupid, self-hating, & insecure. Many are at least one of those things, but many people who chew gum or dye their hair are too. there are men who prey on the weak who are none of those things. her decision to disparage them is not genuine criticism. rather, it is a defense mechanism that makes her feel better. because she hates them, she wants to believe nobody that evil can be bright and happy with himself. It would not surprise me if she is troubled by feelings of self loathing and plagued by nagging worry about her own intellect (this is well-founded). she is projecting her own weaknesses onto them aand she tells herself they're much worse off in a transparent attempt to prop up her flimsy self esteem.

this is similar to the lie that bullies have low self esteem, which they seldom do. its purpose is to help the bullied feel better about themselves while making their tormentors appear vulnerable.
