II think there is a misconception that Luka is highly intelligent. If you've seen any interviews with him he is not well spoken and is insecure, stumbles over his words.
He really isn't very bright and that article was too articulate and well written to be authored by him.
I'm not 100% sure he is a psychopath. I think he is very complex: his narcissism, below average intelligence ad insecurity far surpass any psychopathy. I think he wants people to think he is a psychopath because it makes him more interesting.
He was very unlucky and made alot of bad choices along the way. I get him. Neglected, no mother, sexually abused as a child by an older man, outcast, ostracized at school, drug use, stripper, gay escort, used and abused, no self esteem yet narcissistic.
Luka has a very high IQ at 145, this is according to an article and if it is true, he is considered "gifted". That does not make him knowledgeable. If you've ever googled Mensa, an organization with worldwide members of people with IQ's in the top 2%, their members range from physicists to high school dropouts and truck drivers. In contrast, there are doctors with average IQ's and probably some with slightly below average. Why? Social and environmental factors. In other words, he has the ability to learn and learn quickly but that doesn't mean he used his abilities. Writing skills are learned and can be studied, they are not indicative of a person's intelligence, rather they are indicative of a person's level of education or informal knowledge from reading. In fact, writing skills are not judged on IQ tests. There is a huge difference between a knowledgeable person having acquired the knowledge through education and an intelligent person.
As for being a psychopath or a sociopath, most psychologists use the terms interchangeably. Traditionally, a psychopath was perceived to be born that way or his/her behavior due to chemical imbalances. A sociopath's behavior was strictly a result of social and environmental influences. I don't think it matters as long as he's fit to stand trial. Paul Bernardo is also a psychopath/sociopath, but he was fit to stand trial and is in jail.
As for the on line magazine, almost anyone can become a correspondent and write articles, they are not paid to write or contribute articles. With the newer software programs able to help with spelling, grammer and few with writing style, its quite easy to write. He basically wrote editorials or opinions.

Don't worry too much about him in prison, dangerous offenders such as him, Russell Williams and Paul Bernardo are kept in single cells, isolated from the general population. They don't get much social interaction with anyone, plenty of time to think and consider why they did it. Paul Bernardo was attacked once while being escorted for his walk or shower or to meet with someone and had to walk through the general population cells. The ones in danger are the short timers in general population who do interact socially with other inmates.
Is there really such a thing as a fresh start? When does the past stop returning to haunt you?
