Design a Test

Postby crystal_richardson_ » Fri Feb 17, 2017 12:30 am

if you were to design a test for psychopathy or Aspd, how would you do it? what questions would you ask? what things would you assess, etc?

how would you ask the questions or assess the traits? would you try to be clever to get the information (if so, what means would you use?). Or would you ask straight up?

This is a great thread idea.

I was actually thinking about this because a lot of tests out there aren't specific enough and people can misinterpret the questions on them. I was going to create a similar thread topic, but I didn't yet because I wanted to give it more thought.

I will respond to this thread when I do and will post a test I've designed.

I hope others will do the same.

Seconded. Just take a look at the newcomer threads posted here on a daily basis.

The test should be quantitative so to diffuse variation based on everyone's subjective understanding of the presented criteria. Possible unambiguous criteria could be:

- Crimes committed (excluding crimes that pose danger to only the perpetrator) / year
- Aggravated physical altercations / year
- Number of times cheated / spouse

I think any criteria correlating with intelligence should be excluded, i.e. potential criminal records or financial independence. As it is, the current ASPD criteria are more of an idiot test than anything resembling a scientific approach to identifying antisocial personalities.

This is basically what psychologists do during sessions as part of assessment.

Surely you've also noticed the spray bottle on the little table to our right?

Aw, maybe you thought it was room freshener. Putting the Febreze label on it is clever, no?
