Yet your comment indicated that you were talking about people in general who type the word lol. It wasn't specifically directed at him, which is why I disagreed with it.

OP, I have not idea if you're a psychopath or not. Having violent fantasies is common as far as I know. I've been dx'd with AsPD and I've been arrested several times, hurt others, etc. I think it's normal to keep weird stuff in your head. It only becomes AsPD/psychopathy when you act on it. It is a silly myth that psychopaths are somehow naturally business savvy and have wildly successful careers. Most antisocial people live on the bottom rungs of society.

Maybe you have some issues you need to work through ? Just chilling with a friend from time to time is helpful. Therapy is alright if you have a specific goal. IMO, therapy is a money pit when it comes to people with minor issues, but you sound like you have some disposable income if you want to pursue it.

It shouldn't apply here. Using "lol" would indicate that you care about how another person reacts to what you say. This is an online, anonymous forum; it shouldn't make any difference to anyone how they're perceived.

No. It doesn't.

The very definition of lol is "laugh out loud".

It just means you find someone else's comment/post funny or amusing. That's all it means to most of us.

Yes, but when I laugh I don't need anyone else to know I've laughed. In that context, "lol" means, "look, what you said was funny and so I laughed".

It has no real bearing on whether or not I found it funny; it means that I want you to know that I found it funny.
