You are very welcome Robert ! The type of addiction may change from person to person but the struggle is common enough . All of us have experienced it .

We all deserve a life free from chains . Keep in touch and let us know how things are going !

Oh my Gods I had to smile at this!

First time I went I expected (I'm NA) a bunch of miserable junkies covered in needle marks sitting there commiserating about dope prices and illnesses they had. I, on the other hand, only went because I couldn't stop drinking and using but I was not an addict at all. So I sat there on my moral high stool, uncomfortable, frustrated and frankly angry to be there and those "junkies" were laughing their asses off at their jokes, socialising, hugging – you wouldn't believe how funny jokes about near-death experiences can be after you've been clean for a while by the way. I was like "what are those disgusting people laughing about when they are ADDICTS". (In my defense, I think 90% of us think like that at the beginning!) I thought those meetings were supposed to be all solemn. But I rarely get as much good clean laughter as when I'm there.

So remember if you stick around YOU are going to be doing the laughing soon and it will not be at a newbie, it will be because you'll be happy. I know I sound like I'm trying to lure you into a sect :D but it's true!

It will be there when you get back . Travel safe , stay warm and have a good time ( or at least some good food , if you are going there for work ) .

Update: I will be in Korea longer than I expected, I decided to have a vacation since I love it here. I haven't had a single drink since I got here. I'm just really having fun here.

That is brilliant news ! Getting away from "hometown" influences can help a lot with building a foundation for recovery / sobriety . Sometimes a change of scenery can jump-start a change of mind-set .

Have a great time , and keep in touch !
