Stress & memory problems

Postby haticha » Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:34 pm

I've got a lot of stress - mental & physical.
That's one problem, second is I've got a memory problem (not diagnosed - but it is very very very hard for me to remember names, dreams, facts, numbers..)
What are the memory improvement solutions that will help me with memory but not make me more stressed?
Like PC software or courses?

I know there's softwares / lessons for memory improvement, but I don't think they are specialist in mental health.

In work it is also problem of stress and also not remember lots of obligations, I need to improve my memory and get effective in work. I've checked a brain exercise application from "CogniFit" and also a few courses, and a "support group".. what will be better? course, computer application or support group?

The application is only available free as a "demo" and I could really check it if I'm paying, also I didn't saw any certification at their website?

But personally didn't had good experience with courses. :?

Hi,

So, you are looking for ways to improve your memory? Firstly, Cod Liver-Oil can improve your concentration which could, in turn, improve your memory. You can buy Cod Liver-Oil in health-supplement shops. Also, trying to reduce your levels of stress would also do the trick. When I am stressed, it can be very hard to concentrate while reading something: I could be reading the words but nothing is being remembered.

Other than that, buy a crossword book and do at least one crossord per day. It will help to imprve your vocabulary.

Take care,
Kevin

hi

First of all you have to overcome and come out of your stress. You can try to counseling. When you get ok then after all you can try to improve your memory. I am saying to you that you should remain healthy at your best effort.

Memory can only be improved when you are total ok from every stress.

When I'm stressed or anxious, even a little bit , I can't concentrate at all, I get out of focus very fast .
As said above, you have to deal with the stress, because to remember something you have to concentrate and stay focus .

Well at least this is what happens to me.
Sometimes I find myself writing a reply in some thread, and in middle of it I just ' Black out ' and forget what I wanted to write, and only when the stress passes I can figure out what I wanted to write , heh .
Recently I'm being anxious often, maybe too often . and when I'm getting anxiety attacks I find myself in same situations, almost a complete 'blackout' and memory loss for a minute untill I calm down .
